CottonConnect wins SME of the Year at Edie Awards 2023
CottonConnect has been named the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) of the Year at the edie Awards in London on 30th March. This is a big moment for CottonConnect and our valued partner brands, our implementing partners and, of course, the thousands of proud farmers who work with us every day.
Now in its 16th year, the edie Awards are the UK’s largest sustainability awards. They recognise and celebrate sustainability excellence across the spectrum of green business, from the best efficiency programmes through to product innovations, from stakeholder engagement and social sustainability initiatives to the people on the ground who are making change happen.
CottonConnect won in the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) of the year 2023 category. The category was hotly contested, with nine finalists from across the world.
As part of its entry, CottonConnect detailed the benefits of its agronomic programmes that are transforming lives in cotton-growing countries. On average, a farmer in a CottonConnect programme sees profits rise by 36%, yields increase by 11%, and pesticide use fall by 26%. We work with key partners and stakeholders to ensure practical solutions that reflect all views, bringing much-needed and valued transparency to a traditionally opaque supply chain.
